The Buzz Around the Water Cooler

When credit union professionals get together, the energy is undeniable. Last week in Austin, we had the chance to come together with folks from across the globe to talk about and celebrate all things CU.

The 5th annual CU Water Cooler symposium was arguably the largest and most collaborative yet. A happy and social crowd, attendees had a great time networking, sharing ideas and just spending time with one another.

The first day of the conference sparked conversations about innovation,  how to be a better boss and more. When it was time to wind down for the evening, though, Buzz Points was ready to get the party started!

We were thrilled to show our visitors a good time in our hometown of Austin, Texas. Buzz Points sponsored the official CU Water Cooler Happy Hour on downtown’s famous “Dirty Sixth” street. CU folks gathered at Bourbon Girl for drinks, light bites and an unforgettable musical performance from local artist Paul Cauthen.

Throughout the conference, most folks could be found snapping selfies with our friend Buzz for a chance to win a $100 Cash Card from Discover. We encouraged attendees to post photos of Buzz to Twitter, tagging both Buzz Points and CU Water Cooler. This year’s Water Cooler attendees had some of the funniest and most unique contest entries we’ve seen.

Congratulations to Lanya Reynolds of Texas Coastal Community FCU, winner of the $100 Discover cash card.

Additionally, congrats to Jeremiah Stone of Young & Free Alabama, who will also receive a prize for most creative entry – a Buzz selfie taken on the stage during a presentation by our CEO Jay Valanju!
